Victorians are facing water restrictions from now until the end of summer because of the low levels of water supplies. While people in Melbourne are facing stage one restrictions, some rural communities are on stage three or four.

The South Coast Environment Group has welcomed Western Australian State Government plans to protect over 360,000 hectares near Walpole. The plans propose the creation of nature reserves and national parks, including a new marine park.
