Earthdance, the world’s largest simultaneous dance music event, is celebrating its tenth anniversary in Melbourne. Offering a truly diverse musical line up from reggae through hip hop to live and electronic dj’s. Give peace a dance at Collingwood Childrens Farm between 8.30 am-8pm on Sunday 16th September.

Acts include Chant Down Sound, Bass Bin Laden, Mantrix, Slieker and Andrew Till, and more. The event will also feature a global webcast, live video, global prayer for peace (9 am), stalls, healers, and creative children workshops, bar (18+) and food area, no BYO, all money raised on the day goes to Earthdance nominated charities.

A new innovative environmental conference for year 10 and 11 students is being held at the University of Melbourne this year. The Leadership in Environmental Action Program (LEAP) conference will be held from Wednesday 26th to Friday 28th September and will give students the opportunity to learn about environmental issues and meet people currently involved in environmental projects. The program will comprise workshops, excursions and discussions around issues such as climate change, deforestation and the extinction of native species.

Facilitators and mentors for the conference include people from the Wilderness Society, Friends of the Earth and the Australian Student
