Government urged to adopt Green New Deal

The Southern Cross Climate Coalition has joined forces with Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees, the Property Council of Australia and the Australian Green Infrastructure Council to release a joint statement on carbon reduction, green jobs and investment.

The statement calls for the establishment of a major nationwide green renovation program, investment in carbon-reducing infrastructure, and making green jobs a centrepiece of economic and industry policy.

The Southern Cross Climate Coalition is made up of the Australian Conservation Foundation, the Australian Council of Trade Unions, the Australian Council of Social Service and the Climate Institute.
