Aerosols - masking the the greenhouse effect
CSIRO
CSIRO research has found that a haze of fine pollution particles, known as aerosols, are impacting rainfall patterns in northern Australia and partially masking the global temperature increase resulting from greenhouse gas pollution. Aerosol pollution, known to have a cooling effect on the atmosphere, is predicted to decrease over the coming decades which may lead to accelerated global warming.
