Emissions trading scheme dispute rocks Liberals

Five senior Liberal Party frontbenchers and senators have resigned their portfolios over a vote on the proposed emissions trading scheme. The Liberal Party and leader Malcolm Turnbull were left in crisis today after Tony Abbott, Tony Smith, Sophie Mirabella and Senators Eric Abetz and Nick Minchin all stepped down in protest.
