Australian Antarctic Division scientists have released a paper that warns of the devasting effects climate change is having on Southern Ocean krill.

According to Dr Anthony Worby, of the Australian Antarctic Division, if we have a significant decline in the amount of sea ice around Antarctica this will threaten the krill habitat, meaning less krill, meaning less food for the whale population who feed on krill in the Southern Ocean.
